Medio Reseach news on April 23
According to Bitcoin.com reportsThe system underpinning the issuance and circulation of Russia's Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is likely to work well with other countries' digital fiat currencies, the central bank said. Speaking to Russian lawmakers, central bank officials said the issue still needs to be resolved, but emphasized that various models of interaction between the digital ruble and other CBDCs are currently being developed.
Alternatives include establishing two-way integrations with every other CBDC platform, or launching an international digital platform to facilitate simultaneous interaction between digital currencies of multiple issuers.
However, Russia’s central bank remains opposed to the free circulation of decentralized cryptocurrencies in the country and has no plans to create a national cryptocurrency exchange. Earlier news, the Russian central bank intends to allow foreign settlements to use cryptocurrencies in an "experimental" environment.
