With the introduction of the Matter unified smart home connection specification, Apple has also re-arranged the launch of smart home products, such as updating the second generation of HomePod after a long absence. Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo analyzed that Apple will launch the HomePod with a built-in 7-inch screen as early as the first half of 2024, and specifically pointed out that Tianma Microelectronics will be responsible for the OEM.
Ming-Chi Kuo's statement is consistent with the news quoted by Bloomberg's breaking news god Mark Gurman earlier. The latter said in January that Apple is developing a variety of devices that combine speakers and iPads, and they are set to be used in the kitchen environment. The positioning of smart screens is similar. One of them is a low-priced product aimed at smart home control, and can also be used as a video call.
Bloomberg pointed out that Apple had relevant product development plans as early as 2017, but the executives were struggling with how to incorporate them into their product ecology. Now the category on Apple's official website is to put HomePod and Apple TV together in the "TV and Home" column, it seems to have figured it out.
